Signet of Capture and healing monk - Guild Wars Forums

I am now a lvl 20 healing monk..I carry the signet but never get to use it !
Right now I am doing the ascension missions..I'm always at the back of the pack..very rarely, if at all, have the bosses targeted, because I am kept busy healing. As the missions get harder, I have no time to use my signet even if I DO see a skill being used. What am I to do ?
Any ideas will be appreciated.

Talk to your party. If a fight is well managed you should be able to clear everything but the Boss that has the skill you want. A solitary Boss (particularly a Monk type Boss) is seldom any significant threat to a full party. Let your backup healer handle healing while you capture the skill. If your party isn't willing to commit to helping each of its members aquire the Elites they need this is a good sign they aren't a good party to begin with and you should take your healing elsewhere.

It is not your job to sacrifice your gaming experience for others.

Sometimes it can get a bit silly though. I remember one fight with the last Dragon facet that must have gone on for 10 minutes because one of the poor Warriors trying to get Gladiator's Defense kept muffing it. We were all at the point of saying enough was enough when he finally captured it.

Ascension missions can be rough though, particularly the one with the Word of Healing Boss. Sometimes its just not possible to do a fight carefully in those setups. One tactic I've found is to take Heal Party. Since it isn't specifically targeted you can use it and have the boss targeted at the same time, so you are doing your job and keeping an eye out for Elites at the same time. Keeping your party alive is the first priority, of course.
